Comics Books are Great! Old Ones Even Better

Comic books.

I loved comic books growing up so much that I can almost say it was
through these wonderful books and characters that I entered the magic world of reading. I liked them all, from Batman to Little Lulu (La Pequeña Lulú).
The former,now unknown by most, was one of my favorites.

I try to use comics whenever I can in the classroom. It is definitely a
fun way to teach reading.

Ser algo...

Yo quiero ser algo,
algo en esta vida,
no pasar sin pena
ni glorias perdidas.

No ser el primero
ni último en la fila,
yo quiero hacer algo
que deje semillas.

Semillas que al tiempo
den el fruto dulce
a una vida digna
de trabajo y lucha.

Yo quiero ser algo
que deje caminos,
por los que transiten
mis hijos, mis nietos.

No quedarme quieto
pensando ¡he llegado!
porque siempre es tiempo
